Micah is most efficient while half asleep, in the middle of the night. He started semi-crying just after 1am. I started breastfeeding him at 1:05. The first five minutes were very energetic, however he only opened his eyes twice, with two big gulps, and but kept them closed throughout the remainder of the feeding. After the initial sleep-energy, he continued to feed for two to three additional minutes. then promptly fell back asleep completely.

His next feeding should be in about four to possibly five hours. One might think (especially an L&D nurse or doc) that seven minutes is simply not enough! But this is my 75th percentile baby, it's enough for him!

Anyhow, it seems that his drowsiness works for him, since he's not nearly alert enough to be distracted, picky, or anything else that would slow down the feeding. Way to go Micah, and goodnight all!
