Our doctor finally called me back this afternoon. Apparently most referrals go to Children's, but she says that the UCSF orthopedic surgery program is one of THE BEST in the NATION. She was really excited that he was able to get an appointment there, especially so quickly.
So, now I'm feeling better about the whole thing, and I can make the hectic drive out there with peace in my heart. :)
