We get a lot of wind where we live in California. But it just happens that it's winter in Washington and a huge wind storm is coming our way. My mom's collected all the candles and flashlights. We're ready.
Of course, it's not really windy yet. It will come, though. It was fairly windy yesterday when we went to Ross and Safeway. We saw on the news last night that a Douglas fir had fallen on a moving school bus full of children. They were all ok, but the top of the bus was crunched flat and the windows were all broken in.
This makes me want to stay huddled up in a cozy blanket in bed all day. The way my mom's house sits in the middle of a big field with no trees to break the wind's strength means the house creaks and the windows wobble in a wind storm. As much as my brain knows that we're ok, it sometimes is not easy to relax in that situation.
The weather right now:At our house in CaliCloudy, 62 degrees (feels like 62).Here in WashingtonCloudy, 39 degrees (feels like 33).
