Everett pleads guilty in 22-year-old murder
MOUNT VERNON — Around 22 years after Randy Soderberg disappeared, someone has officially taken responsibility for slaying the Sedro-Woolley resident.
Against his attorney’s advice, Marcus Everett pleaded guilty to first-degree murder Friday afternoon in Skagit County Superior Court for bludgeoning Soderberg to death in 1984. Everett’s trial was due to start Monday.
Everett, 43, will likely be sentenced to more than 20 years in prison.
