Bryan took the police officer exam while we were in Washington. (That was actually the reason for the visit.) It was a written exam with math, English, reasoning, and personality questions. After the exam he also aced the physical exam.

He got a packet of forms to fill out in the mail when we got back, which he mailed back. Now we wait for them to call him for a board interview. From what information he's received from one of the lieutenants, they will probably administer the polygraph exam at the same time to condense the process since he's residing out of state. And that would probably be next month.

For the board interview he will have to bring with him the Personal History Statement, which is roughly thirty pages of every job, house he's ever had, as well as nearly a dozen personal references. I've been helping him gather some of that information (do you know he's lived in eight different places in the last ten years?) right now to speed up the process so it can be done and ready at a moment's notice.

So I guess after that, if/when he goes through the hiring process, we can start getting out of the Air Force while they do the background investigation, which I think is why they ask for all the information on the PHS. But we're certain that will go ok, since he has already gone through a background investigation for his secret security clearance for the Air Force.
