Bryan's on the plane and headed back to Travis, but not exactly coming "home". We're staying in a "Temporary Lodging for Families " unit at the base inn until we get a new place to live. The TLF units are like little apartments, they have an eat-in kitchen, living room, bathroom with a washer/dryer stack, and two bedrooms. This is the same arrangement as when we transferred here from McChord.

A friend of ours is trying to convince us to move off base instead of into another (mold-free) base housing unit. We're undecided about this. If we move off base we'd receive a monthly housing allowance (Basic Allowance for Housing, or BAH*) to cover the cost of housing. The problem is, good housing around here is pretty expensive, so we'd most likely have to pay more than the BAH amount for rent and utilities. But we're keeping open minds and we'll see what happens.

When Monday comes around, we'll be dealing with more of the things that go along with this unexpected move.... Arranging for our things to be packed and moved, finding out more about the housing situation, filing a claim for our mold-damaged household goods, initiating the BAH paperwork....

But for today, we're headed to TWO birthday parties and of course, Daddy's coming back. It's an exciting day to take our minds off the hassle of the last couple of days. Thank the Lord for the good and the bad.

* BAH is determined by rank and geographical location
